Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 24 March 2026

Our Commitment

AI-Assist for SMEs is committed to ensuring our website and platform are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as referenced in the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 and in line with the Equality Act 2010.

We believe that everyone should be able to access information about our services and use our platform effectively, regardless of any disability or impairment.

What We Do to Support Accessibility

We have taken the following steps to improve accessibility across our website:

  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements (buttons, links, forms) are accessible via keyboard without requiring a mouse.
  • Screen reader support: We use semantic HTML elements and ARIA labels to support screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.
  • Colour contrast: We aim for a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text, in line with WCAG 2.1 AA.
  • Text scaling: Our pages are responsive and remain usable when text is scaled up to 200% in the browser.
  • Clear headings: Pages use a logical heading structure (H1–H3) to help users navigate content.
  • Alt text for images: Meaningful images include descriptive alternative text.
  • Focus indicators: Visible focus rings are maintained for keyboard users.
  • Responsive design: The website works on a wide range of devices and screen sizes, from mobile to desktop.
  • Dark and light mode: Users can switch between dark and light themes based on their preference or system setting.
  • Link text: Links are written to be descriptive and make sense out of context where possible.

Technical Specifications

Our website is built with:

  • HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (Next.js React framework)
  • ARIA attributes where appropriate
  • Server-side and client-side rendering for performance and accessibility

We test for compatibility with the following browsers and assistive technologies:

  • Google Chrome (latest), Mozilla Firefox (latest), Apple Safari (latest), Microsoft Edge (latest)
  • NVDA screen reader on Windows
  • VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
  • TalkBack on Android

Known Limitations

We are continuously working to improve accessibility. Currently known limitations include:

  • AI chatbot widget: The embedded chatbot widget requires JavaScript and may have limited screen reader support in some configurations. We are working to improve this.
  • Third-party content: Some third-party services embedded on our platform (such as Stripe payment forms) are outside our direct control and may have their own accessibility limitations.
  • Complex data tables: Some dashboard analytics tables may not be fully optimised for all screen readers. We are working to add improved ARIA table roles.

If you encounter any difficulty accessing any part of our website or platform, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you directly.

Preparation of This Statement

This accessibility statement was prepared on 24 March 2026 and is reviewed annually. It was last tested internally in March 2026 using keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom, and screen reader testing with NVDA and VoiceOver.

We are committed to ongoing improvement and aim to conduct a formal third-party accessibility audit during 2026.
